About the position

As an Electrical Designer at Tecnau, you will play a key role in both the development of new products and the further development of existing solutions within your assigned product group. You will work with electrical design and the preparation of manufacturing documentation according to applicable procedures and policies. In your role, you will ensure that the products meet relevant safety requirements and approvals. You will be part of the development team and have a wide network both internally and externally, collaborating with various departments, customers, distributors, sales companies, and suppliers.

The development of new products is a central part of the role, and you will be involved in the entire process – from idea and concept to finished product. You will work with technical solutions that meet market needs, conduct feasibility studies, develop prototypes, and ensure that the development work aligns with the company's strategy. If necessary, you will participate in development projects and act as a sub-project manager. An important part of the role is also to ensure that products meet current approvals and safety requirements, as well as manage the setup of purchased components and manufacturing items in the business system NAV.

Technical competencies and qualifications

We are looking for someone with a technical education at the post-secondary level, preferably with a focus on electrical design. You have several years of experience in electrical design and development work, as well as experience in project work and product development. Good knowledge of CAD and very good proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is a requirement. You also have knowledge of relevant safety requirements and approvals.

As a person, you are analytical, goal-oriented, and have strong administrative skills. You enjoy collaborating and find it easy to communicate with various stakeholders. You have a business-minded approach and understand how development work impacts the company's overall operations. To thrive in the role, it is important that you are flexible and able to adapt to changes. You see opportunities in development and have an open mindset towards new working methods and technical solutions.
